The Research Ethics Committee is a group of people who meet to uphold the interests of research participants in their integrity and dignity. It is responsible for evaluating and monitoring the ethical aspects of research involving human subjects. Os m\u00e9dicos que chefiam o estudo, os m\u00e9dicos que participam do estudo e o Comit\u00ea de \u00c9tica em Pesquisa, podem rever seus arquivos. Ag\u00eancias governamentais (federal, estadual e municipal) podem inspecionar qualquer registro de pesquisas m\u00e9dicas, mediante pedido legal, mas todos os esfor\u00e7os para garantir o sigilo ou confidencialidade ser\u00e3o mantidos.<\/p><p>Ao aceitar participar da pesquisa voc\u00ea permite o uso dos dados coletados apenas para pesquisa cient\u00edfica e educa\u00e7\u00e3o. Ao nascimento, colheremos amostras de sangue do cord\u00e3o umbilical, mec\u00f4nio e\u00a0urina\u00a0para a pesquisa de poluentes e outros exames da pesquisa. Durante o acompanhamento de sua crian\u00e7a, ser\u00e1 realizado um exame f\u00edsico e avalia\u00e7\u00e3o do desenvolvimento neurol\u00f3gico, motor, emocional e da capacidade de aprendizado de sua crian\u00e7a, tamb\u00e9m ser\u00e3o colhidas amostras de urina e cabelo do seu beb\u00ea. A coleta destas informa\u00e7\u00f5es poder\u00e1 ser realizada por membros da equipe, incluindo pediatras, neurologistas, fisioterapeutas, enfermeiros, psic\u00f3logos e alunos de gradua\u00e7\u00e3o, estes sob a coordena\u00e7\u00e3o de supervisores treinados e dos professores respons\u00e1veis por este projeto, na Maternidade Escola. Poder\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m ser realizados exames para avaliar a capacidade auditiva e visual de sua crian\u00e7a e outros exames de sangue ou de imagem que os m\u00e9dicos julgarem necess\u00e1rios para acompanhar a sa\u00fade da sua crian\u00e7a e que ser\u00e3o explicados a voc\u00ea.
