Toxicology training at Abrascão 2025
The 14th Brazilian Congress of Collective Health (Abrascão 2025) opened registration for pre-congress courses, which take place on November 28 and 29. Among them is the module "Training in Toxicology in the Field of Public Health", proposed and coordinated by Prof. Carmen Ildes Froes Asmus, with participation from PIPA researchers Nataly Damasceno de Figueiredo and Aline de Souza Espíndola.
With 8 hours in duration, the course discusses investigation and monitoring processes for populations exposed to environmental pollutants — with central emphasis on children and pregnant women, priority groups of PIPA. Topics to be addressed include methodological challenges in environmental epidemiology, maternal and child health, recruitment and retention strategies, study validity, exposure and effect biomarkers, and fundamentals of toxicology applied to the public health context.
Spots are limited and participation in the courses requires prior registration at the congress.
Values: R$ 10 for ABRASCO members and social movements / R$ 15 for non-members.
Registration can be done directly on the event website.
