Event marks the 50th anniversary of the UFRJ Graduate Program in Endocrinology

Celebration will bring together specialists, academics and professionals in the field to discuss advances and perspectives in the field.

The Graduate Program in Endocrinology of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) marks its 50th anniversary with an event that highlights its trajectory and impact in the field of Endocrinology. Entitled "50 Years of the Endocrinology Graduate Program: From the 20th to the 21st century, innovating toward the future of Endocrinology”, the event is free e será realizado nos dias 10, 11 e 12 de abril, no Fórum de Ciência e Cultura da UFRJ (Avenida Rui Barbosa, 762 – Flamengo). A inscrição é obrigatória.

Specialists, academics, and professionals in the field will gather to discuss advances and future perspectives for the field of Endocrinology. Thus, the event will serve not only as a platform to reflect on the scientific progress of the last half century, but also as an occasion to recognize the contribution of program members to the advancement of Brazilian and global science in Endocrinology.

Founded in 1974, the program is recognized for being the only stricto sensu program of its kind in the State of Rio de Janeiro and for its significant contribution to the training of masters and doctors in the area. With more than 380 masters and 160 doctors trained, the program has played a crucial role in the development of Endocrinology both in Brazil and internationally.

Over five decades, under the initial leadership of Prof. Dr. Jaime Rodrigues and subsequently Prof. Dr. João Gabriel Hosannah Cordeiro, the program has stood out for the quality of its research and teaching, receiving a score of 5 in all recent evaluations by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES).

The celebration is open to everyone interested in advances in Endocrinology and represents an opportunity to better understand the program's impact on health and science.
